EDUCATION PARTNERS
RSI supports and coordinates the technical and educational sessions by our Education Partners and several of the RSI Project Committees. RSI 2020 will have sessions hosted by the following groups.
RSI Project Committees
The RSI Exhibitor Advisory Committee (EAC) comprises representatives from RSI members and exhibitors. The committee works with RSI staff on methods to increase the number and quality of attendees, improve marketing and outreach, provide feedback on future planning, and create a better experience for exhibitors.
The RSI Government & Public Affairs Commitee (GPAC) works collaboratively to identify and work to advance the railway supply industry legislative and regulatory goals. Legislative issues of interest include: rail car safety and security; supporting the Section 130 highway-rail grade crossing program; supporting railroads in securing tax incentives to increase infrastructure capacity; securing federal investment for positive train control and rail safety research and development; securing a stable and dedicated source of federal funding for intercity passenger rail; promoting balanced regulation and proactively advocating against bigger trucks.
The RSI Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) is an advocate for quality and continuous improvement in the performance and safety of the rail supply industry’s products and services. This group is composed of quality leaders from RSI member companies, and includes representatives from car owners, fleet managers, repair and reconditioning facilities, and car and component manufacturers.
Education Partners
The League of Railway Women (LRW) provides women with the opportunity to gain a broader understanding of the rail industry and achieve personal and professional goals at every career level.
The Locomotive Maintenance Officers Association (LMOA) consists of railroad industry officers involved with the repair and maintenance of locomotives and shop related equipment. LMOA works to improve the skill, knowledge and capability of its members through continuing education and to exchange maintenance experiences and information.
